23rd October. Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou


Group meeting at Marrakech airport 13:30h.

Trip by bus to Ait Ben Haddou Kashbah, crossing the High Atlas mountains and the Tzi n Tichka 2.260m. port, where we will stop to admire the spectacular view. We arrive on afternoon, after accommodation short walk around the views of the old town at the entry of the "Route of the slaves", where the caravans used to stop before entering the desert.

24th October.  Ait Ben Haddou


Breakfast at the hotel.

Spare day to enjoy the place. The fortress can be visited. Some films were recorded here as “Lawrence from Arabia”, “Gladiator” and “The jewel of the Nile”. The town is made of mud and is located at a oasis close to a river bed.

Lunch and dinner at the hotel.


25th October.  Ait Ben Haddou - Merzouga   


(Erg Chebbi dunes)


We reccommend you to wake up early and enjoy the sunrise with the palm trees and the old town World Heritage site Ait Ben Haddou. After breakfast we go by bus to the Todra river gorgues (Tinerghir). We will see huge palm tree forests. We will arrive to Merzouga (Erg Chebbi dunes) for the afternoon and sunset. We will spend the night in the desert in luxury tents (Haima).

26th October. Merzouga


(dunes and ancient market Rissani)


Breaksfast in a big tent.

Most of us will wake up early to walk around the sand dunes and the solitude of the desert. Four wheel drive route to go inside Erg Chebbi, approach to the Grat Dune, more than 250 m high. We move to a hotel in a different part of the desert.

Lunch by the hotel.

Afternoon in Rissani market (optional). Visit to the ancient Rissani market (zoco). Is a very ancient and busy market plenty of animals, handcrafts, food... Rissani is one of the oldest markets in the world, where caravans used to stop to trade. Is really worth and safe to walk through the market and get some photos.

Dinner at the hotel.


27th October. Merzouga (Erg Chebbi dunes)


Hotel free day.

Breakfast at the hotel.

Sunrise by the sand dunes. You can choose between a dromedary tour in the desert or just walk for the landscape, caravans, palm trees...

Dinner at the hotel.


28th October. Merzouga - Ouarzazate


After breakfast we go by bus to Ouarzazate, a magnificent town. We will have lunch on the way, we stop at a restaurant by the road. Afternoon at Ouarzazate.

29th October. Ouarzazate - Marrakech


Breakfast at the hotel.

After lunch we depart by bus to Marrakech. Arrival about 20h.

Dinner and transport to airport or hotel.

The official money is Dirham, you can get them in your bank or just change euro or pounds at the airport in a bank or currency change office. 1 euro is 10 Dirhams. Although you can pay in many places with euro, you can rebate in markets and get better offers in Dirhams. Change to some small money for tips and drinks or fruit by the markets. In most hotels, museums and restaurants you can pay with credit card.



The cost of the trip is 485 euro per person.
